Eventually, the knowledge of the things
I had known for years began to take root in my heart. I shared the things I realized with others by writing and leading a women’s Bible study in my home. It was during these years that I felt God calling me to write a children's curriculum. But,
I knew it was not yet time.
In 2016, I had a memorable prophetic dream, and the meaning was immediately revealed to me. Then again, in November of 2017 I had another dream; when I woke up I wrote it all down. Then I completely forgot about this dream until shortly after my oldest son, Gil, took his life in December 2019 at the age of 27.

Founder of Victorious Light
& AUTHOR OF FINDING JESUS

“I have known Jesus since I was a little girl. My husband and I met through a church event, and have been married since 1991. We raised our five children teaching them the Word of God. In 2014, I began volunteering in the children’s department at our church, and I became frustrated with the lack of depth in children’s church materials.

MORE ABOUT LAURA

Shortly after the death of my son, I remembered the dream I had in 2017. I had written, ”Everyone was there except Gil…,” and I knew the dream was of things that would happen after he was gone. I watched many things in that dream come about over the next two years. At the very end of the dream, I stood in front of my house and looked far down the road towards the church that I now attend. From that location, a HUGE tree EXPLODED out of the ground, went up into the clouds, and the leaves and seeds blew everywhere. Then I woke up.

The morning my son passed, I heard the Lord speak from Habakkuk 3:17-18. It speaks of a time of total desolation and complete ruin, but the next verse says, “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” I heard the Lord say, “That is how you are going to get through this.” It was so incredibly real that there was no other way I could respond. I praised Him at my son’s memorial service, and then shared what the Lord had told me. I declared to the crowd that I would rejoice and give God praise. The enemy may have come to steal from me, but through Christ I will have abundant life.

The Lord showed me later that my declaration at the memorial service was monumental in my life. I established at that time that regardless of circumstances, I would rejoice in the Lord and give all praise to HIM. (Job 22:28)

With the Lord, I went through grief - with joy. I praised Him and thanked Him for His goodness, every time I thought about my son, which in the beginning was constantly.

It was 2020, and I decided to attend Bible college with my daughter. The church in the dream was one of the satellite locations for the Bible school. In spring of 2021, while attending classes,
I reconnected with someone who was over the children's ministry at this same church. They needed help with the elementary aged children, and I offered to help on Wednesday nights. I began teaching children in May of 2021, writing the lessons and highlighting Jesus in the Old Testament. I started in Genesis, and over the next few years I taught nearly 100 lessons of the Old Testament stories. Later, in 2024, I began writing about the stories in the gospels.

Through this experience I now see that the Lord was preparing me to see the whole body of Christ without denominations or divisions. This church allowed me to teach on Wednesday nights, even though I was attending another church that had been our church home since my husband and I met. Later, in 2023, we made the complete transition to the church where I was teaching the children.

God is amazing! In May of 2025, the Lord reconnected me with a woman
I had known for many years. I did not know that she was connected to a global ministry, and she had no idea about my children’s lessons. In May of 2025, she took the lessons into Cuba. She then connected me with an organization that brings pastors from all over the globe to Dallas, Texas, USA for training. I had the opportunity to share my personal story with these pastors and give them lessons. Many of them had been praying about materials for the children in their churches.

In February of 2025, I traveled to Kenya with my daughter and my friend Marina from Czech Republic. We trained teachers from 100 churches of all denominations. By June 2025, the materials were in approximately 400 churches in Kenya and Uganda. The initial publication of the lessons was a printing of 1500 books in Kenya of Finding Jesus: Gospels in preparation for distribution East Africa in August 2025.

In June of 2025 the curriculum went into twenty-two additional countries to use for their churches, affiliated churches, and schools, and will soon be translated into over eight languages.

I quickly saw that
adults often  underestimate
the ability that children have to understand
the more profound
truths in the Bible.

Over the next few years I began to have a desire for a more intimate relationship with the Lord. I had studied the Bible for years, but I began an even deeper study of Scripture.

Over time, I came to a true understanding of what a relationship with Jesus really meant. I grew to experience a relationship based on His love for me, rather than on my performance.

Through our conversation I learned
that she directed a school, and also taught Sunday school. She
shared that she lacked teaching materials for her Bible lessons. When
we returned home, I began sharing my lessons with her by email.
By December of 2024, Jael had shared the lessons with over sixty churches. By January 2025, I saw the need to start a non-profit tax-exempt organization to allow people to sow into this project. I founded Victorious Light, based on the meaning of my name. God places great emphasis on the meaning of names. My first name, Laura, means Victorious. My middle name, Ellen, means Light. The Lord is giving me the opportunity to share the Victorious Light of Jesus around the world.

For over three years, I wrote and taught the lessons only to the children in my church. But God had other plans. In September of 2024 through a God-ordained meeting, I connected with Jael, a woman

Global friends from Namibia, guyana, and guinea.

The Lord has used my personal travel experiences to help me write these lessons from a global perspective. I have attempted to convey the message without western culture references, or any denominational doctrine that tends to divide us as believers. My goal is to teach these lessons in a way that unites all believers, all cultures, and all people. Finding Jesus focuses on what the body of Christ has in common, Jesus.

From the very beginning, I knew I would never charge for these lessons. They are free, and they always will be. God will provide for everything. This is all God, and I will always give Him all the glory! He is supernaturally spreading this curriculum to fill what seems to be a global void in the area of children’s materials. God is awesome, and continues to be there through every step of this journey.

Finding Jesus

I call it a curriculum; it is really a Bible study for the teacher. Reading the Bible is like searching for hidden treasure. Jesus is hidden all throughout the Word of God. Sometimes in plain sight, and other places must be searched out. Many of the lessons have Greek or Hebrew references, and all the lessons have multiple cross references directing the reader to scriptures all over the Bible. The lessons are customizable for all ages 3-99.

As a little girl I was fascinated with travel, geography and cultures around the world. Through the years I have had opportunities to teach these cultures and geography in a classroom setting, as well as personal experience.

I learned in Bible college that the things that frustrate us the most often involve the very things that the Lord has called us to do. While traveling internationally, I became very frustrated with tourists who do not engage with or try to understand the local culture. Many people have unreal expectations of the very countries in which they are a guest. A visitor should be most gracious and understanding of the differences, and not try to impose their personal view or perspective on others who see things through a completely different lens.

This is God's project, and He will continue to direct me, and provide where he leads. It's a wild ride. God is driving, and I don't know where we are going. But it is going to be great!

Jesus is in every story of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. The Old Testament points forward and prophesies of his coming, and the New Testament points backwards to the prophecies he is fulfilling.

- LAURA

I believe God wants us to be gracious and understanding of the viewpoints of others and the world in which they live, although it may be much different than our own.

So what is it?

17 Although the fig-tree shall not                    blossom, neither shall fruit be in the          vines; the labor of the olive shall fail,      and the fields shall yield no food; the      flock shall be cut off  from the fold,        and there shall be no herd in the                  stalls,
18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy       in the God of my salvation.
19 The LORD God is my strength, and he             will make my feet like hinds' feet, and         he will  make me to walk upon my high         places.

Although the fig-tree shall not blossom,          neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor      of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall        yield no food; the flock shall be cut off            from the fold, and there shall be no herd in      the stalls,
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in            the God of my salvation.
The LORD God is my strength, and he will              make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will              make me to walk upon my high places.
